Overview
ClearNPI ("we," "our," or "the site") operates clearnpi.com, a free tool for looking up healthcare provider NPI numbers from the publicly available NPPES National Provider Identifier registry maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use the NPI lookup tool. This policy describes the limited data that is collected as a standard part of operating a website and through the third-party services we use.
Information We Collect
ClearNPI does not directly collect, store, or sell personal information. However, the following information may be processed as part of normal site operation:
- Search queries — Terms entered into the NPI lookup tool are transmitted to our backend (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) to query the NPPES public registry API. These queries are not logged or stored by us.
- IP addresses and usage data — Cloudflare's infrastructure automatically processes IP addresses and request metadata for security, routing, and abuse prevention. This is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
- Contact form submissions — If you use the contact form, your name, email address, and message are transmitted to Formspree for delivery. We receive the message content only.
Cookies and Advertising
ClearNPI displays advertisements through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These cookies allow Google and its partners to serve ads relevant to your interests.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.
ClearNPI itself does not set cookies, track users across sessions, or use any analytics platform beyond what Google AdSense provides to publishers through its standard reporting.

ClearNPI uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

NPPES Data
NPI lookup results displayed on ClearNPI come from the NPPES National Provider Identifier registry, which is a publicly available federal database maintained by CMS. This data is public record. ClearNPI does not modify, store, or republish this data beyond what is displayed in real time during your search session.
Children's Privacy
ClearNPI is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Links to Other Websites
ClearNPI links to external websites including news articles, government resources, and third-party tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.
Your Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.
